Over 300 self-confessed drug users turned themselves to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Wednesday.
Senior Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr., QCPD deputy chief for operations, said the surrender was part of the “Oplan Katok Pakiusap” of the police to put an end the proliferation of the drug menace in the city.
Records at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority (PDEA) showed that Quezon City is one of the cities in the Metro Manila where the sale and use of illegal drugs is rampant.
Esquivel said the more than 300 drug users surrendered through the help of barangay officials. He said they will be investigated so that their sources of illegal drugs will be identified.
