Various symptoms of hyperthyroidism may have direct links to heart disease, a study conducted by researchers from the De La Salle University Medical Center found.

The researchers discovered that the risk of heart disease is higher in patients who have observable symptoms, or overt hyperthyroidism.

Those with hyperthyroidism have heart palpitations, diarrhea, low heat tolerance, enlargement of the thyroid, and weight loss due to increase of body metabolism.
