HYUNDAI Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), distributor of the brand in the Philippines, announced that the Hyundai Accent 1.4L M/T now has a new engine and transmission that promise smoother acceleration and enhanced fuel economy.
HARI said that the Accent’s 1.4-liter Gamma engine is now fitted with dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) instead of the previous version’s single CVVT. The new setup bumps the engine up to 99 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 133 Newton-meter of torque at 4,000rpm, improving the car’s overtaking performance, HARI said.
