HYUNDAI Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) announced it recently held the second round of the Hyundai Lateral Drift Pro-Am Championship Series 2014 at a Libis, Quezon City, The company added 30 drift racers from the amateur and pro division battled it out for the top slot in this year’s series.
Japan D1 Grand Prix drift racers Kimihiro Obata and wife Hiromi Kajikuma pulled a surprise challenge on the contenders by changing the track layout, according to HARI.
In the Amateur Division at the second round of championship, Adrian Jonsay of Team GMW bagged first place. He was joined in the podium by Karr Montaner of Drive Hard Crew and Patrick Hesse of Team Drift Mob.
In the Pro Division newcomer Jowil Lazaga of Team GMW astonished judges and spectators with his sideways-speed action, earning for him the top spot. Coming in behind him were Drift Tandem’s Gio Rodriquez and teammate Ralph Tan.
Round 3 of the championship is scheduled on August 23 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
