Ibaloi housekeeper, priest also file COCs

BAGUIO CITY: An Ibaloi housekeeper from Itogon, Benguet dreams to become the country’s next president as she filed her certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office here.

Paula Sagayo showed up at the local Comelec office on the first day of filing of COCs on Monday.

Comelec-Baguio, however, did not accept Sagayo’s COC because candidates for national elective posts are to file COCs only at the Manila office.

Sagayo, who claims she has a full ticket from Vice President to 12 Senatoriables, said she will file her COC in Manila.

Meanwhile, in Calayan island in Cagayan province, Fr. Reymund Rey Jose returned to his hometown to file his candidacy for vice mayor.

The priest said he wants to serve the people of his hometown as a politician following the footsteps of his mother who served as mayor of the town.

In Nueva Vizcaya, no COC yet has been filed among expected candidates for the representative, governor and vice governor positions.
