Ibalong Magayon Aquagliders bagged the team championship title in the 77th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series dubbed as Bicol Summer Swim Meet on Sunday at the Mariners Polytechnic Foundation swimming pool in Rawis, Legazpi City.

The Aquagliders earned 709 points to beat second placer Albay Falcons (499) and third placer DWLC Falcon Swim Club (405).

Amateur Swimmers Club of Albay placed fourth with 250 followed by Naga Great White Swim team (249), Swim Titans (143), A1 Athletes League Philippines (81) and Nature Resort (46)

“The Bicol Region is coming up strong this season of 2015, we have plenty of swimmers now in college and going to universities, and now getting ready for Universiade 2017 as early as now,” said PSL President Susan Papa.

The Most Outstanding Swimmers (MOS) in Class ABC-Motivational were Iris Arnaldo (7-8), Isis Arnaldo (9-10), Gian Nicole Nunez (11-12), Hanna Sartorio (13-14) and Trisha Anne Oliveros (15-over) in girls, and Kirsten Agao (6-under), Steve Bolanos (7-8), Angelo Jose Tondo (9-10), Carl Jude Tence (11-12), Errian Isaac Perez (13-14) and James Peter Hernandez (15-over) in boys.

“They are smart young generation that knows their rights. They know that what is important is that the experience they will get and a lifetime unforgettable memories and that they must disseminate this to the younger generations,” added Papa.

In Novice category, winning MOS trophies were Jan Mikel Cielo (6-under), Timothy Philip Orap (7-8), Madox Sacayan (9-10), Froilan Gabriel Sebastian (11-12), Aldous Matthew Lucas (13-14) and Peter Andrei Basco (15-over) in boys, and Lois Angela Rubi (7-8), Angela Reyta (9-10), Heaven Leigh Mediavillo (11-12) and Audrey Macandog (13-14) in girls.

Papa said that record-breakers Hernandez and Isis Arnaldo have qualified to the 2015 Singapore Swimming Championships scheduled in August.

“Both Hernandez and Arnaldo qualified and will compete in the upcoming international competition in Singapore,” announced Papa.
