ICC construction to push through despite probe

ILOILO CITY: Construction of the P700-million Iloilo Convention Center (ICC) in this city is set to push through despite an ongoing Senate probe on allegations that the convention center, designed to host two Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings next year, is overpriced. This was announced by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Director Edilberto Tayao to reporters on Wednesday. Tayao said that Phase 1 of the ICC, covering the building shelf, is set to be completed by the first week of December while the bidding for Phase 2 is scheduled on December 2014.
