South Cotabato Integrated Port Services, Inc. (SCIPSI), a unit of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) was recently awarded the Gold Employer of the Year Award (International) at the annual Investors in People Awards 2016 held in London.
SCIPSI is a subsidiary of ICTSI, and operates the stevedoring and cargo-handling services at the Makar Wharf of the Port of General Santos City in South Cotabato.
Investors in People is an initiative of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES), which is a publicly funded, business-led organization originally formed to develop guidance and standards for UK companies. Its standard has since spread worldwide since it was introduced in 1991, and currently counts 15,000 organizations in 75 countries among its members, according to the Investors in People website.
“The Gold Employer of the Year award is given to high-performing and high-achieving organizations that show commitment to exceptional practices like involving people, enabling learning, identifying poor practices and ideas for improvement, rewarding ideas, competitiveness and innovation,” ICTSI said in a statement.
SCIPSI General Manager Gabriel Munasque and several members of his staff traveled to London to accept the award, where they were joined by Philippine Ambassador to the UK Evan Garcia.
