THE Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC or Church of Christ) has filed a criminal complaint against Isaias Samson Jr., who was among the ministers expelled from the church, over online rants and interviews where he accused officials of engaging in anomalies.
Records from the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office said the complaint for libel was filed last Friday, July 25.
The case is set for a raffle on Friday.
Samson was editor-in-chief of the church’s official publication, Pasugo.
His expulsion followed that of Cristina “Ka Tenny” Manalo, widow of the late church leader Eraño “Ka Erdy” Manalo and mother of the executive minister at present, Eduardo Manalo.
Also dropped from the INC rolls were Eduardo’s siblings, Marco Eraño, Lottie and Felix Nathaniel.
The Manalos were accused of sowing disharmony in the church for uploading a video on YouTube on June 22 where they claimed that their lives are in danger as well as alleging that church officials were engaged in corruption.
Samson claimed in a video posted on Facebook that he was allegedly placed under house arrest in his house at Tierra Bella in Quezon City.
He revealed corruption involving the construction of the multi-billion INC-owned Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, north of Manila.
Maligaya Development Corporation manages Ciudad de Victoria where the arena is located.
INC spokesman Bro. Edwil Zabala denied all the allegations made by Samson.
