The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) announced their much awaited support for Muntinlupa candidates under the Liberal party (LP) led by incumbent Rep. Rodolfo Biazon and Mayoralty candidate Jimmy Fresnedi and some councilors, namely: Louie Arciaga, Phanie
Teves, Carlo Argana, and incumbent councilor Patricio Boncayao, who are all from the first district.
Biazon and Fresnedi expressed their sincerest gratitude to the hierarchy of the INC.
The religious sect’s crucial number of voters is seen as decisive in determining the winner of the mayoralty race in Muntinlupa.
Despite the official announcement, fake sample ballots were circulated in the Alabang area, with the names of incumbent Mayor Aldrin San Pedro and congressional candidate
Emerson Espeleta and several councilors.
Biazon, Fresnedi and vice mayoralty candidate Gigi So appealed for clean, honest and orderly elections.
The trio called on the electorate to vote conscientiously.
Biazon’s camp also called on the Commission on Elections to implement what was agreed upon in the peace covenant of the parties in the city.
