The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) admitted that illegal recruiters have infiltrated their job fairs.
DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) acting Director Nelson Hornilla said that in the previous jobs fairs, they monitored illegal recruitment activities.
However, Hornilla clarified that those instances were immediately acted upon.
“Some parties who are not among the registered employers participating in the job fairs distribute leaflets. In previous job fairs, we found some of them,” he said.
“That is what we are closely monitoring during the job fairs. When we find them, we invite them and ask them to leave the premises,” Hornilla added.
During the Independence Day job fair, the DOLE opened 35,000 local and overseas jobs and hired more than 500 job seekers.
DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said more than 30 job fairs are set to be held for the rest of June across the country.
Meanwhile, Baldoz warned the public against illegal recruiters.
