The International Labor Organization (ILO) has estimated that 800,000 workers have been affected by Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) with their source of livelihood damaged or disrupted overnight.

About 370,000 of these workers were in vulnerable employment, living in poverty and accepting whatever work is available to them.
