A 10-hour power outage will hit some parts of Iloilo and Antique provinces on Saturday. According to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), the power interruption is between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Among the areas affected are franchise areas of the Iloilo and Antique Electric Cooperatives. The outage is due to the shut down of Power Transformer No. 2 at Sta. Barbara Substation and the 69-kilovolt Sta. Barbara-Sibalom line. “Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion,” NGCP said in an advisory. NGCP’s customers and the public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled interruptions.
