The Pambansang Kongreso ng Salin or the National Congress on Translation will be held from August 7 to 9 at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas in Iloilo City, Iloilo.
Themed “Ang Pagsasalin Bilang Pambansang Pangangailangan” (Translation as national need), this year’s congress aims to gather practitioners, translators, teachers and students to discuss issues on translation and to promote the importance of literary and technical translations.
Talks will include the importance of and need for translation in the field of governance, education, health, peace negotiations, science and technology, religion, and business.
A part of the celebration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa or National Language Month, it will draft concrete resolutions for the National Agenda on Translation.
