Iloilo Comelec bares candidates’ SOCE


ILOILO CITY: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) here bared the Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) of local candidates in the May 8 polls with Liberal Party (LP) candidates complying with the Comelec directive. Reelected Rep. Jerry Trenas have total P532,284 expenses while reelected Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has P582,433 with personal expenses of P84,790 and P497,643 contributions. Their rivals Daniel Cartagena spent P20,000 (congressman) and Marigold Gonzales (mayor) used P49,402.
LP elected councilors Jeffry Ganzon (P55,240); Candice Tupas (P262,100); Julie Grace Baronda (P118,568); RLeone Gerochi (P40,000 and P69,800); Jay Trenas (P44,518); Eduardo Penaredondo with personal money (P64,627) and contributions (P656,940 or a total of P721,567). Joshua Alim spent P52,516; Armand Parcon – P12,738; Dylee Zulueta – P11,566; Plaridel Nava – P61,511; Mandrie Malabor – P33,020 and Ely Estante – P6,889. Among the 27 candidates for city councilor, lowest spenders are independent candidates Mel Carreon (P2,100); Ma. Janice Ramos (P3,900); Jhey-R Villaba (P4,900); and Rel Lumayad (P4,725).
