ILOILO CITY: City mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has ordered the closure of a business establishment located at the corner of Mabini and Delgado streets was ordered closed effective immediately for failure to secure a business permit.
Mabilog, who issued Executive Order No. 54 dated July 30, 2015, directed Norman F. Tabud, Licensing Officer IV and chief of the Permits and Licensing Division to implement the closure order of Frank’s N Burger with the assistance of the city police force.
The order focuses on the establishment that has been operating for quite some time despite the issuance of Notices of Violation dated February 4, 2015, March 4, 2015 and May 12, 2015.
Tabud said that City Tax Ordinance No. 2007-016 or the local revenue code of Iloilo City was enacted to govern the tax and other revenue raising powers of the city.
It is unlawful for any person or entity to engage in business, trade or occupation to which a permit is required without first having obtained such permit from the city mayor’s office and pay the necessary fees and other charges to the city treasurer’s office pursuant to Section 53 of City Tax Ordinance No. 2007-016 as amended.
