Iloilo to implement water rationing


ILOILO CITY: City officials here opted to ration water in 24 of 180 villages severely hit by the El Niño phenomenon as the water table and wells have already dried up. The P3 million funding is released through Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution 2016-168 that placed Iloilo under a state of water calamity. The affected villages are Camalig, Buntatala, Lanit, Bitoon and San Isidro in Jaro district; Don Esteban and Loboc in Lapuz district; Sooc and Calumpang in Arevalo district; Ortiz, Hughes, Timawa I, Tanza Timawa II, Veterans, Concepcion, Bagumbayan, Tanza Esperanza and Ma. Clara in the city proper; South Fundidor, Boulevard and San Juan in Molo district; Jereos in La Paz district; and Navais in Mandurriao district.
