Former Ilocos Norte representative Imee Marcos also visited Janet Lim– Napoles in her office in Pasig City, according to pork barrel scam witness Mary Arlene Baltazar.
Baltazar, who testified during the hearing on Friday at the Sandiganbayan’s Third Division, was a former bookkeeper of JLN Corp. JLN stands for Janet Lim-Napoles.
The court is hearing Napoles’ bail petition. The businesswoman was one of those charged in the P172-million plunder case filed against Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile.
When asked by the court if she recognized any politician during gatherings or parties thrown by Napoles, Baltazar said yes.
Baltazar said she saw several politicians during the anniversary of JLN Corp. in 2010 or 2011. She mentioning former Rep. Rodolfo Plaza of Agusan del Sur and a congressman Estrella.
Plaza is one of five former lawmakers facing indictment over the alleged misuse of their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel.
“Si Imee Marcos nagpunta po doon pero walang okasyon [Imee Marcos also went there but there was no occasion],” she told the court.
She added that Sen. Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada also dropped by their office even if there was no occasion.
JLN Corp.’s office was at 2502 Discovery Center in Ortigas, Pasig City.
Napoles will be celebrating her birthday on January 15 but her lawyers said she will not be asking for a furlough.
