Dusit Thani Manila reopens renovated grand ballroom
Dusit Thani Manila reopened the doors of its grand ballroom, now called Mayuree Ballroom, on July 25 to revelers that included dignitaries, celebrities and other high-profile guests. Welcoming them was hotel General Manager Alex Willats.
“The hotel would not be a prominent establishment without the support of our loyal clientele, who are among the notable and influential themselves,” Willats announced. “We will maintain the traditions and the impeccable service we have been known for over the decades as we continue to nurture our relationships with you.”
To start the program, a traditional Thai Peacock Dance was performed to reveal that “mayuree” is the Thai word of peacock. According to Willats, the colorful plumage of a peacock is what best describes the look of the renovated grand ballroom from its majestic chandelier down to its beautiful carpet.
The highlight of the evening was an exclusive fashion show by Albert Andrada whose collection was also inspired by the mayuree.
Everyone was then serenaded by vocal Powerhouse Dulce, and later through the night, mixes of DJ Mars Miranda filled the ballroom. The performances signify how Dusit Thani Manila upholds its traditional beauty and values, while it moves forward with the dynamic times.
This new vision of the hotel can also be seen at the revamped ballroom intricately detailed with Thai culture and arts, complemented by modern amenities and excellent service.
