A youthful and trendy Lea Salonga lends her celebrity status to Uniqlo

International stage actress and The Voice Philippines judge Lea Salonga is a winner in her new short haircut, which definitely makes her look younger and trendier at 45.

Barely a month since wrapping up her latest Broadway coup, Allegiance, Salonga is back in Manila and gradually starting to pile up her commitments here, beginning with a fashion endorsement for Japan’s global retail giant Uniqlo.

Set for an official launch tonight at the brand’s flagship store in SM Megamall, Ortigas Center, the Philippine pride said of representing the casual wear label, “For quite a few years, Uniqlo has been one of my absolute favorite brands. It’s not every day that I get to be chose to be an ambassador for a clothing brand that I actually really like, so I’m truly excited for this new venture, joining my co-brand ambassadors for the 2016 Spring/Summer season.”

Salonga will share the spotlight with fellow brand ambassador furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue, film director Antoinette Jadaone and fashion photographer BJ Pascual.

Best known for her world-class performances, the Tony Award winner has become one of the most remarkable artists today. Despite her recognitions, Salonga continues to practice her craft to further achieve excellence.

“In the same token,” said a statement from Uniqlo, “the brand like Lea Salonga continuously enhances its pieces to deliver high-quality stylish and comfortable products for every Filipino.”

Multi-awarded furniture designer, Kenneth Cobonpue, on the other hand shares the passion for innovation and quality with the clothing brand. For him, everything should be well-engineered, giving each of his pieces an ageless look that can last for many generations.

“These qualities are the same attributes that Kenneth Cobonpue has seen in Uniqlo, a brand that produces innovative, functional and timeless pieces,” continued the statement.

As for blockbuster director Antoinette Jadaone, her work echoes the brand’s practice to collaborate with other talented personalities to bring out the best in any project. As such, both Jadaone and Uniqlo keep their audiences engaged and wanting more.

Finally, for the “boy wonder” of fashion photography, BJ Pascual, his busy lifestyle that keeps him running from one shoot to another finds an ally in clothes that are both comfortable and stylish.

“A perfect fit for this brand,” he said.

Altogether the new Filipino faces of the world famous brand will take to a mini-fashion presentation this evening to unveil Uniqlo’s Spring/Summer looks, which as always, brings together style, comfort, innovation and functionality for “every kind of people.”
