ONE of the country’s largest and most influential religious groups, the Iglesia ni Cristo, has endorsed the reelection bid of Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi along with local candidates of the Liberal Party.
Fresnedi and his slate vowed to continue inclusive development and improve the Eight Point Program of Governance in Education, Health, Livelihood and Employment, Economic Development, Peace and Order, Environmental Protection, Socialized Housing and Good Governance.
INC Muntinlupa also encouraged its members to vote for Fresnedi’s allies — Ruffy Biazon for congressman and Celso Dioko for vice mayor.
Also endorsed were candidates for Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP): (District 1) Patricio Boncayao Jr., Allan Camilon, Bong Cruz, Bal Niefes, Phanie Teves, Ringo Teves; (District 2) Tintin Abas, Dhes Arevalo, Lester Baes, Lucio Constantino, Grace Gonzaga, Marissa Rongavilla, Raffy Sevilla and Victor Ulanday.
LP candidates for SP in District 1 Louie Arciaga and Dr. Danny Carandang were not on the list but they expressed confidence that Muntinlupa residents will support Team Fresnedi’s 11-0 win for good governance. The two candidates said they respect the INC’s decision.
Fresnedi said he remains steadfast that locals will elect rightful leaders who will selflessly serve their constituents and promote excellence, transparency and accountability in public service.
He added that with Team Fresnedi in congressional and local executive positions, Muntinlupeños are assured access to quality services.
The local executive encouraged Muntinlupa residents to ensure that the elections will be peaceful and orderly.
Fresnedi also thanked community groups such as Muslims, transport groups, senior citizens and civic organizations for their continued support for his administration.
