THE PBA Press Corps Annual Awards will unwrap tonight at the Topaz Room of Gateway Suites in Cubao, Quezon City.
The event’s distinguished guests include Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona. PBA Commissioner Chito Salud, Chairman Mert Mondragon of Rain or Shine and immediate past chair Rene Pardo of B-Meg Derby Ace.
Among those to receive citations are Talk n Text’s Jason Castro (Mr. Quality Minutes award), Petron Blaze’s Arwind Santos (Defensive Player of the Year), Danny Ildefonso (Comeback Player of the Year) and Jimmy Mariano (Referee of the Year).
Highlighting the rites set at 7 p.m. is the awarding of the Virgilio “Baby” Dalupan Trophy and the Danny Floro Trophy to the Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year, respectively. Talk n Text coach Chot Reyes and team owner Manny V. Pangilinan are the leading contenders for the prestigious awards.
