Filipino international singing sensation Charice arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday dawn to attend the wake of her slain father, Ricky Pempengco, at Divine Mercy Chapel in Muntinlupa City (Metro Manila).
Charice was supposed to perform in Singapore for the David Foster and Friends tour, but upon learning of the death of her dad, she canceled her participation in the concert and took a flight from Jakarta, Indonesia, to the Philippines.
She expressed her sadness on the tragic death of her father upon her arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City (also in Metro Manila).
The singer sought the help of authorities to find the suspect in the murder of her dad.
In a statement, Charice expressed hope that justice will be served, not just to her father but also to other people.
Addressing issues regarding her family’s supposed problems, she said that the disagreements between her family and relatives of her estranged father have been ironed out.
Ricky Pempengco was stabbed dead in San Pedro, Laguna province, south of Manila, on Monday night by the suspect, Angel Capili Jr.
Capili is now the subject of a manhunt and carries a P100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
