CHEVROLET’S all-new Trailblazer SUV and Sonic subcompact recently marked their dealership launch at Chevrolet North EDSA, which also celebrated its first anniversary.
The dealership’s chairman and chief executive officer, Vincent Licup, noted that the Trailblazer and Sonic “were never launched formally by Chevrolet Phils.,” and were introduced to the market only through print ads, and so the new models’ launch was a significant event for the brand.
Regarding the dealership’s anniversary, Licup said that Chevrolet North EDSA will continue aiming a notch higher in terms of providing its customers products and excellent after-sales services. During the event, displayed at the showroom
were a pair of brand-new, auctioned-won, original 1977 and 1995 Chevrolet Corvette pace cars, which are owned by Mico de Dios.
Licup related that the Corvettes were acquired from an auction held by a private collector in the US. The ’77 Corvette was a 6,000-unit production model while the ’95 was produced in a limited run of only 527 cars.
“We don’t know of anyone owning a brand-new example of these cars. Restored, perhaps, but definitely not brand-new ones. These are original, official pace cars and not reproductions. The mileages on both Corvettes are authentic and are certified by the US Department of Motor Vehicles,” Licup said.
