MOTUL TOUTS PROTECTION, FUEL-ECO TRAITS OF SYNTHETIC OIL
MOTUL said that its SAE OW-20 fully synthetic engine oil has for decades proved it can meet the quality standards recommended by car manufacturers in terms of viscosity required in providing good fuel economy and optimum protection during cold starting. The company explained that the “OW” in an oil’s viscosity rating indicates the characteristics that allow for better engine starts, with a lower value before the “W” meaning easier start-ups in cold weather. The “20” in the rating indicates the viscosity of the oil’s operating temperature, and Motul said its OW-20 oil has been tested on racetracks to provide engine protection during high-speed driving and in other extreme engine-load conditions.

The company added that its oils have excellent anti-oxidation properties that prevent premature thickening and ageing caused by thermal stress, and that their high-performance anti-wear additives increase engine life by reducing friction. Motul said it also recommends that consumers look for the International Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee, or ILSAC certification, mark on the packages of oil products.

In the Philippines, Motul oils and other lubricants are distributed by Autoplus Sportzentrium.
