Fitness and success

The soft launch of Filipina bodybuilder Gemmalyn Crosby’s e-book was successful that she promised to come back next year to print The Gemmalyn Crosby’s Bikini Body Diet hoping to help Filipinos live a healthier lifestyle.

A professional athlete at the International Federation of Body Building and Fitness (IFBB), Crosby came home to the Philippines to launch her e-book in a mini-press conference held at the Kamayan Restaurant, Padre Faura, Manila on December 20.

Special guests in the soft launch were rap artists Slykane and Amir Agassi, Valenzuela City Councilor and TV host Kate Coseteng, Calayan Surgicentre Marketing head Lalen Calayan and singer Selina Sevilla.

Crosby, a certified personal trainer, and an award-winning fitness phenomenon who recently won first place in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Amateur International Bikini Class B Championship this year, also shared insights and experiences on her life as a professional athlete, a mother and wife, a TV, movie and print ad fitness model and a true Filipino despite being based abroad.

The official launch of Crosby’s website where one can download a copy of the e-book and participate in her personal training support forum was held on January 1, 2013. Her 1-on-1 Group Training Bikini Body Challenges will be available first quarter of 2013 in select locations to be announced. In May 2013, Crosby will have her book printed here in the Philippines with National Bookstore being eyed as the publisher.

The 5’4” native of Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte, who used to sell vegetables to survive, wanted to offer more than just a book about fitness and losing weight, so she is developing group training fitness challenges where women can receive her full attention while she shows them the proper way to do the exercises.

Crosby, who is also the 2012 NPC Atlantic USA Bikini Championship’s Over-All Winner, already plans to write another book — a step-by-step clean eating diet and recipe book to teach fast and simple ways to cook only once a week for the whole family.
