With a background of Original Pilipino Music, homegrown brand Mint unveiled its debut showcase for the Philippine Fashion Week to celebrate 10 years in the fashion industry.
A bold, bright, and fashion forward take on Filipino style energized the runway with show-stoppers Sam Pinto, Xian Lim and Gerald Anderson all showing off the best of Mint’s colorful Spring/Summer 2013 Collection.
The music of the ‘70 hits experienced a 21st century remix, with memorable vintage vinyl covers of
Tito Vic & Joey, Pilita Corales, Juan Dela Cruz, Rico J. Puno, Cinderella, Hagibis, and VST & Co. found cleverly emblazoned on the brand’s neon raglan-sleeved OPM shirts.
The folksy hit ‘Bulaklak’ ushered in female models in a festive display of florals— from Hawaiian to English Country, Digital Printed to Retro Paisley—that displayed a tasteful hint of the innate sex appeal of the modern Filipina.
The men were clad in pastel-hued bottoms adding more life to Americana-inspired tops like star-spangled pique polo shirts, gingham long-sleeved shirts, and varsity jackets.
PBB Teens stars Ryan Boyce, Fred Payawan, TV5 sweethearts Imee Hart and Shy Carlos also rocked the runway looking their best in the brand’s latest pieces.
With a kaleidoscope of colors, an explosion of prints, and fun, original Pinoy music blaring in the background, Mint reminds everyone about the carefree, exciting, and rule-breaking take on Filipino dressing that sends us back to the best of times while showing an enjoyable future to look forward to—a future of seeing the fun and freedom-loving spirit of Mint worn all over the country.
