The Shangri-La Plaza mounted its annual holiday fashion show on Saturday dubbed “Season of Opulence” at the upscale mall’s Grand Atrium.
The highly anticipated fashion event offered Manila’s most discerning style setters a coveted preview of what to expect this holiday season from select top clothing brands, while also parading the impressive diversity of Shang’s merchandise mix.
Popular high street labels Marks & Spencer, Zara, Debenhams, Topshop, Mango, and Warehouse wowed audiences with noteworthy runway revelations that showcased key trends for the celebrated fashion season.
Premium brands Gap, K & Co, Mico Boutique, Celine, Celio, Daniel Hechter, Onitsuka Tiger, Massimo Dutti, Bauhaus, Nautica, Ben Sherman, Original Penguin, and Anthem likewise reigned on the catwalk, presenting their own distinct interpretations of how to stand out in style during the holidays.
Also not to miss were laudable anthologies from Rustan’s Department Store and Crossings Department Store, turning some of the season’s most wanted looks into wearable creations fit for stylish urbanites to don during the much awaited iconic series of gatherings and special affairs the most wonderful time of year often brings.
Taking to the stage through “Season of Opulence” and its participating brands were two key style dictations for the Yuletide season. Dressy evening wear still remained in fashion’s Top 2 for holiday must-haves, with participating brands launching a dreamy parade of glamorous and luxurious pieces fit for stylish men and women.
Also proving to be worthy alternatives to special occasion pieces were sportswear-infused street wear, offering a different take on holiday dressing by ingeniously incorporating sporty elements into contemporary styles and masterfully conjuring eye-catching utilitarian pieces with their own unique fashion flavor—turning basics and wardrobe staples into occasion-ready ensembles.
Successfully peppering the runways with looks that take their cues from the global style scene, “Season of Opulence” was the perfect prelude to what mall goers and avid shoppers can look forward to this holiday season.
