As the definition of beauty continues to change with the roles of women in society, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) once again pays tribute to the modern Filipina whose beauty is only matched by her passion for service through the Miss Casino Filipino Pageant.

The grand coronation will be held tonight at the Pagcor Grand Theater in Airport Casino Filipino, Parañaque City.

On Monday, 25 young and beautiful candidates were presented to members of the media at a gathering at Midas Hotel in Manila.

The candidates represented the different Casino Filipino branches all over the country. Each candidate exuded their own unique appeal with candidates No. 3 Syril Dane Men-doza; No. 4 Reynalyn Yama-nouchi; No. 16 Lorraine de Guzman, No. 18 Mutya Johanna Datul and No. 20 Theresa Marie Fenger emerging as some of the early favorites.

De Guzman, Datul and Yama-nouchi are alumnae of Mutya ng Pilipinas Pageant–Lorraine in 2009, while Datul and Yamanouchi were both finalists in the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012.

While Datul’s primary reason for joining the pageant is help her family in their financial needs, she also wants to be of service to less fortunate children who are afflicted with cancer and serious illness. Yamanouchi, on the other hand, promised to help young children finish their education and will find time to share her talent and expertise in classical ballet as she focuses her advocacy on youth development and education.

Before moving on to the coronation night the 25 beauties went through grueling regional screenings last month.

According to Pagcor Vice President for Entertainment Bong Quintana, the response for this year’s competition has been so overwhelming. “We were surprised by the number of those who auditioned and I’m very proud of this year’s batch of candidates. “We got better, smarter, taller and prettier contestants who exude not only the confidence but also a heart for community service—this is the most important trait that we are looking for the next Miss Casino Filipino.”

The winner will receive half a million pesos in cash—almost double than last year’s prize—while her chosen beneficiary will receive a donation of P200,000. The four runners up will receive P400,000, P300,000, P200,000, and P100,000.

Deserving winners and contestants will also be given a chance to work in Pagcor and Casino Filipino.
