Aquino, Najib to discuss bilateral ties

Aside from witnessing the signing of the framework agreement between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak will also discuss bilateral relations with President Benigno Aquino 3rd.


Najib arrived in Manila on Sunday with his wife, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, Foreign Minister Dato’ Sri Anifah bin Haji Aman, International Trade and Industry Minister Dato Mustapa bin Mohamed, Defense Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and other Malaysian government officials.

The President and the Prime Minister are also expected to discuss defense and security cooperation.

This is Najib’s first visit to the Philippines ever since he assumed his post in 2009.

Najib will also have a meeting with Philippine business executives “under the auspices of the Philippines-Malaysia Business Council.”

Datin Rosmah will deliver a speech at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) as the institute holds a homecoming ceremony in her honor.

She graduated from AIM with the course Basic Management Program in 1982.
