ONE of the suspects in the brutal killing of University of Santo Tomas graduate Cyrish Magalang wants his brother cleared from the case.

Rolin Gacita maintained that he was the only one responsible for Magalang’s death, not his younger brother Roel Jr., a tricycle driver.

“Pinagsisihan ko na ang nagawa ko, pagdudusahan ko ang ginawa ko. Inaamin ko, ako ang may gawa at nadamay lang ang aking kapatid [I regret what I’ve done and I’m ready to face the consequences. I admit that I was the one responsible and my brother was just dragged into the case],” Gacita said in a radio interview.

Gacita said that he was high on drugs when he committed the crime.

“Lango ako sa alak at droga kaya ko nagawa iyan [I was under the influence of drugs and liquor when I committed the crime],” he added.

Roel Jr. earlier claimed that he had nothing to do with the crime and that he was also a “victim.”

The older Gacita issued the statement after he and his brother were brought to the Cavite Provincial Prosecutor’s Office to be charged.

The Bacoor Police in Cavite province filed charges of attempted rape, robbery with homicide against Rolin and Roel Jr. for the killing of Magalang.

Supt. Romano Cardino, chief of the Bacoor Police, said that there was basis to file charges against the brothers.
