World Championships gold medalist Josie Gabuco is ranked No. 2 in the women’s 45-48-kilogram weight class of the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) world ranking.
Gabuco garnered 1,350 points behind No. 1 Svetlana Gnevanova of Russia, who has 1,500 points. The Filipina boxer earned huge points after winning gold medals in the 2012 AIBA Women’s World Championships held in Qinhuangdao, China and the 2011 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Palembang, Indonesia.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Nazym Kyzaybay of Kazakhstan with 1,150, Kim Klavel of Canada and Pink Jangra of India with 1,000, Bolortuul Tumurkhuyag of Mongolia with 900, Alexandra Love of US, Xu Shiqi of China and Sarjubala Shamjetsabam of India with 800 and Lynsey Holdaway of Wales with 690.SEA Games champion Alice Kate Aparri, on the other hand, is rated sixth in the women’s 54-kg category with 950 points while Nesthy Petecio occupies the 20th position in the women’s 51-kg with 375 points.
In the men’s division, Rey Saludar is at 19th in 52 kgs with 450 points while Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga takes the 34th spot in 46-49 kgs. with 100 points. Wilfredo Lopez is at 22nd in 69 kgs. with 300 points
