Pacquiao wants no less than a knockout

Pound-for-pound king Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao believes that there is only one way to conclude the rivalry between him and Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez and that is by a convincing knockout when they fight for the fourth time on December 8, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“Manny don’t want the fight to be decided by the judges. He is looking only for one way to win and that is by knockout,” Pacquiao’s long-time lawyer Franklyn Gacal told The Manila Times via telephone interview.

Gacal added that all of Pacquiao’s coaches Freddie Roach, Alex Ariza and Buboy Fernandez are convinced that the PacMan has reclaimed his old deadly form.

“The coaches told me it would be Manny’s speed and crisp punches that would knock Marquez out,” said Gacal.

Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum had a similar observation, “It was one of the best Pacquiao I’ve ever seen where he was sparring with some really good sparring partners. I’m very pleased of what I saw in his latest training,” he told boxingscene.com.

Gacal narrated that Pacquiao’s training regimen consists of daily roadwork, mitt punching drills, heavy bag work, isometric exercises (for greater punching power) and sparring with different types of opponents.
