AT LEAST three robbers were killed in different shootouts in Manila, police reported on Tuesday.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said that the first incident happened after still unidentified tandem riders were killed following an encounter with patrolling policemen in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
PO3 Milbert Balingan of MPD-Homicide Division described the tandem as between 30 to 35 years old and of medium built.
Balingan said that initial investigation showed that the victim Lyndon Pine was waiting for a passenger jeep at about 2:30 a.m. at Felix Huertas St. when the gunmen snatched her bag and valuables worth P15,000.
Pine immediately reported the incident to patrolling policemen, which resulted in a shootout.
Balingan said that the two were brought to Cruz Funeral Homes for autopsy.
PO3 Amelito Lopez said that the second shooting incident happened at about 2 p.m. on Monday between a security guard and three unidentified robbers.
He said that initial investigation showed that Jay Arr Macahilas, 22, security guard of Mandarin Palace caught the three while stealing the stainless part of the kitchen of the establishment in Binondo, Manila.
Lopez also described the suspect, who was brought to St. Yvan Funeral for autopsy, as between 30 to 35 years old, slim built and with fair complexion.
