Some islands of the Philippine archipelago have made it to the list of world’s best islands, a travel magazine revealed.
International travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller’s recent Readers’ Choice Award published in http://www.cntraveler.com named Luzon, Cebu and Mindanao as one of Asia’s top 10 islands.
According to the Readers’ Choice, Luzon was ranked third with a rating grade of 78.9, scenery for 80.2, friendliness for 88.1, ambience for 75.4, beaches for 70.2, activities for 73.9, lodging for 76.5 and restaurants for 81.7.
Bali in Indonesia and Phuket in Thailand ranked first and second, respectively.
Cebu came in seventh place with a rating grade of 75.9, scenery for 75.7, friendliness for 85.4; ambience for 77.7, beaches for 74.3, activities for 75.0, lodging for 80.0 and restaurants for 68.3, the magazine revealed.
It also included Mindanao and ranked it as tenth with the readers’ choice score of 62.8, scenery for 75.0, friendliness for 71.4, ambience for 64.3, beaches for 59.3, activities for 66.7, lodging for 53.8 and restaurants for 60.7.
Other islands that made it to the top 10 were Langkawi in Malaysia, Koh Samui in Thailand, Hokkaido in Japan, Malaysian Borneo and Lombok in Indonesia.
Philippine hotels also ranked in Southeast Asia’s top 20 hotels—Makati Shangri-la was fifth; EDSA Shangri-la, seventh; and the Manila Hotel, 20th.
According to Conde Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards, which has been running since 1988, at least 46,476 readers participated in the vote.
