CHIEF Justice Ma. Lourdes Aranal-Sereno still refuses to get the result of her psychiatric testing and disclose it to the public while two of her colleagues were allowed by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) to release the results of their psychiatric tests, taken when they applied for the position of chief justice.
The Manila Times learned that Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita Leonardo-de Castro was the latest magistrate who asked the JBC to release the result of her mental tests. The first justice who sought a copy of his psychiatric test result was Arturo Brion.
The JBC furnished the result of de Castro’s psychiatric test to her in October.
According to an 11-page Psychiatric and Psychological Report of the JBC prepared by two psychiatrists and two psychologists, de Castro got the highest score of 1.
It was disclosed that five of the eight nominees short listed for the position of chief justice got flying colors in their mental tests except Sereno who got a low mark of 4.
De Castro, the third most senior magistrate of the High Court was the only nominee who notched a grade of 1 in her psycho testing. She is one of the two lady magistrates who was short listed by the JBC. The other one is Sereno, who got a low grade of 4 along with Solicitor General Francis Jardeleza.
A source in the JBC, meanwhile, said that Sereno, the current chairman of the JBC, has ordered the non-disclosure of the minutes of the meetings of the council.
Among the Senior Justices pushing for the disclosure of the psychiatric test were Brion, de Castro and Antonio Carpio.
