Refusing to convey passengers or demanding fixed rate will end to cancellation of your taxi franchise.
This is what the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) warned taxi cab operators and drivers who will take advantage of this Christmas rush as it will deploy uniform personnel in Metro Manila, such as bus terminals and commercial malls to apprehend taxi drivers who will refused to convey passengers or demand fixed fares.
Lawyer Jaime Jacob, Transport chairman, said that the move is a warning to cab drivers who refuse to convey passengers, engage in contracting passengers or demand fixed fares during the holiday seasons.
Jacob said that violators will be fined P2,000 for first offense; P3,000 plus a franchise suspension for six months for second offense and franchise cancellation for third offense.
Jacob urged the public to call or text in their hotline at (0921) 448-7777, to report abusive or erring drivers.
Jacob assured the public that they would quickly address all the complaints they would receive from the victims with bad experiences with erring drivers.
