SUIT URGED VS. OWNERS OF SHIP IN ILLEGAL FISHING
GREENPEACE International has called the Philippine government to immediately pursue a legal action against a Filipino ship that was previously engaging in an illegal transfer of fish on the high seas.

According to Greenpeace International, the Filipino reefer, Sal 19, was found illegally transferring fish to Heng Xing 1, a Cambodian-flagged reefer, along with two Indonesian purse seine fishing vessels KM Starcki 10 and KM Starcki 11 on the high seas on November 14. FRANCIS EARL A. CUETO

MMDA LAUNCHES METRO WEATHER SYSTEM
THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has launched the Metro Weather that aims to provide the public with near real-time weather and help them prepare for severe weather conditions. MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said the Metro Weather stations would collect and store information such as rainfall, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, solar radiation and ultraviolet index. “Metro Weather will also help save more lives on the road,” he added.
