Kin of Rolito Go victim linked to kidnap

CONVICTED Rolito Go who was believed to be abducted inside the New Bilibid Prisons was allegedly abducted by a relative of the De La Salle University student Go shot dead in 1991.

During the preliminary investigation at the Department of Justice, one of the two arrested respondents in the kidnapping charges claimed the involvement of one Eliot Maguan in their operation.

Eliot is younger brother of Eldon Maguan, the La Salle engineering student shot dead by Go in 1991 after a traffic altercation in Greenhills, San Juan.

According to Go’s legal counsel, lawyer Claire Castro, she stressed that respondent Armando Mon-dero identified Eliot through a photo as the one who directly dealt with the alleged financier of the abduction identified as Engr. Emilio Ortiz.

“The respondent saw this person talking to Engineer Ortiz, one of the respondents in this case,” Castro said.

With this, Eliot will be sub-poenaed by the Justice department investigating prosecutor at the next hearing on January 8, 2013.

Mondero surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation in November.

During the hearing, a sketch of Eliot was prepared by the Investigation bureau upon Mondero’s description and was submitted to the Justice department.

“If he [Eliot] is really involved here, we will be surprised thinking of possible motive he has in kidnapping Mr. Go,” Castro added.

Currently, Mondero is applying to become state witness in the case before the Justice department Witness Protection Program.
