UK firm, GMA send aid to ‘Pablo’ victims

UK-based money transfer brand Xpress Money and the GMA Kapuso Foundation partnered recently for the relief operations in the wake of Typhoon Pablo (international codename: Bopha).

Xpress Money donated $10,000 (P400,000) through the Kapuso Foundation to provide relief assistance such as food and medicines for the typhoon-stricken areas in Mindanao. Foundation Executive Vice President and COO Mel Tiangco expressed her gratitude to Xpress Money for showing support for the Kapuso Foundation and its causes.

“We hope that this humble contribution will help ease the suffering of the typhoon victims,” said Xpress Money Philippines Country Manager Ed Cobangbang. “As part of our fervent commitment towards ensuring the welfare of our fellow Filipinos, we will always be on standby, ready to offer a helping hand to aid each and every Filipino family especially in their hour of need.”

In light of the massive destruction brought by Pablo, Malacañang has called for help and mobilized several government agencies to work hand-in-hand with the private sector for the continuous, timely and consistent response to the needs of over 175,000 families recorded to be affected by the typhoon in Region IX alone.
