THE camp of Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino Jr. accused of jueteng operations in the province assured the public that they will file criminal charges against his political enemies who bankrolled the smear campaign against him in view of the incoming May 2013 elections.

In a statement, Espino’s legal counsel Dean Abraham Espejo stressed that they will do justice to the besmirched reputation of the governor.

Espejo pointed out that the attack against the name of the governor smacks of politics.

“The charges filed against Governor Espino are politically motivated. We are appealing to the authorities to observe due process and stop this sinister political persecution. In particular, political opponents of Espino were behind the demolition job.”

The dsean of the New Era University said that despite all the political persecutions he will still be a loyal member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) and will continue to support the ruling coalition of President Benigno Aquino 3rd.

Espejo said that they will show to the public that the charges before the Office of the Ombudsman are all manufactured.

“We will show that all these charges are fabricated and based on manufactured and illegally obtained evidence,” he said.

Espejo said that the governor has been “an exemplary government official and had a sterling background as a police officer.”
