Angara abandons Aurora bid

SENATOR Edgardo Angara on Friday made it clear that his international commitments and not the issue on the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone (Apeco) made him decide to withdraw from the gubernatorial race in Aurora province.

In a press conference, Angara said that although he is certain that he would win the gubernatorial race, he decided to abandon his bid because it would be unfair to the people of Aurora to have a governor that will not be able to stay in the province all the time.

“To be able to be a good governor I have to stay in Aurora, and if I will stay in Aurora I will be unable to fully fulfill my international commitments,” he explained.
