INDIAN IT FIRMS TO HIRE 5,000 WORKERS
INDIAN companies in the country will be hiring around 5,000 new workers as they are keen on expanding operations in the information technology sector.
Vice President Jejomar Binay said several Indian technology companies have already expressed strong interest to expand their operations in the Philippines. During his visit to India, Binay met with executives of some Indian businessmen such as ESSAR Group/AEGIS, HCL Technologies Ltd., Syntel Inc., Infosys BPO Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services and Interglobe Technologies. P1.2-BILLION PROJECTS UP FOR GRABS IN QC
The Quezon City goverment announced over the weekend that a number of infrastructure projects worth P1.2 billion are up for grabs next year through a transparent bidding process for the first quarter. City Engineer Chito Cabungcal said that the infrastructure projects include the renovation and restoration of the Quezon City General Hospital located along Seminary Road, a former seminary turned into a hospital after World War II. Cabungcal said that this year alone, the city had allotted almost P2 billion in infrastructure expenditure that includes building schools, health centers, multipurpose centers, markets, roads, drainage and flood control system in different barangays of the city.
