Letran posts slim 92-89 victory over Lyceum

KEVIN Alas led the Letran Knights past newcomer Lyceum Pirates with a slim 92-89, victory Friday in the 87th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil-Flying V Arena in San Juan City.
The young Alas put in 24 points, 11 rebounds and six assists leading to the Knights’ win, strengthening the team’s hold of solo third spot with a 5-2 slate, just two notches behind co-leaders San Beda Red Lions (6-0) and San Sebastian Stags (6-0).

With the setback, the Pirates, who were admitted into the league only this season as a provisional member, dropped to solo fourth place with a 4-4 record.
