LAWMAKER SEEKS HIGHER PAY FOR GOVT DOCTORS
IN a bid to encourage doctors to stay in the country instead of looking for jobs overseas, a lawmaker has introduced a proposal seeking to increase the salary grade and additional benefits to doctors employed by the government.
Sen. Antonio Trillanes 4th, filed Senate bill 319, which seeks to address the exodus of doctors, which according to him has taken a toll on the country’s health service. JEFFERSON ANTIPORDA
PDEA SEEKS TO IMPROVE TRAINING OF CANINE PROVIDERS
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) intends to empower private canine service providers to bolster the quality and credibility of accredited drug-sniffing dogs in the country. Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr., PDEA director general said that efforts have been made to amend the provision concerning pieces of drug evidence no longer needed by the courts be made available to K-9 schools as training aids.
