THE tourist passengers of the boat that sank off Boracay Island have been saved, but the boat’s captain remains missing according to a report of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) at 9 a.m. on Friday.
The motorized vessel “Mbcas CAPT K” carrying seven Britons, two Chinese, one Australian and the three Filipino crew members overturned near the island’s Puka Beach Resort on Thursday afternoon.
A local village official named Apolonio reported the mishap to the Boracay Special Tourist Police Office (BSTPO) that sent its men along with the local Philippine Coast Guard detachment to search and rescue the boat passengers.
The joint team has rescued the 10 tourists, a Filipino crewmember, and a tour guide.
