Two female Americans were arrested in Cebu City because of criminal fraud charges in the United States, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Tuesday.
Lucretia Beth Brown, 45, and Andrea Jaine London, 51, are now detained at the BI jail in Bicutan, Taguig City after they were arrested on October 9.
The BI chief Ricardo David Jr. explained that Brown and London will be immediately deported to the US to stand trial before a US district court in Texas, which issued warrants for their arrest. The ladies were charged with conspiring to conceal records, making false statements and not reporting multiple sales from their previous company.
Their alleged offenses also include their “failure to maintain records of receipt and disposition of firearms.”
The acting BI chief, Lawyer Ma. Antonette Mangrobang, disclosed that both fugitives arrived together as tourists on a 21-day no visa privilege at the Mactan International Airport in Cebu on February six.
Mangrobang stressed that both women are undocumented aliens because their passports were already revoked by the US government.
The two women planned to live in isolation as they were arrested by operatives from the BI’s fugitive search unit in newly built mountain top subdivision in Cebu that is sparsely populated and far from the city, Mangrobang revealed.
