After staying for 10 days in the country, tropical storm Nina scurried out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said on Thursday.
Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said that tropical storm Nina exited on Wednesday evening headed toward Japan.
Aurelio said that during its stay inside the PAR, Nina did not directly affect the country, though it enhanced winds that created big waves in parts of Luzon. He added that no other weather disturbance is seen near the Philippine territory.
Aside from possible brief rain showers mostly in the afternoon or evening, the whole country would continue to have good weather condition until Saturday, Aurelio said.
He said that the southwest monsoon (habagat) is no longer likely to be felt in parts of Luzon and is being replaced by amihan which is affecting northern Luzon
Cool winds from amihan, the northeast monsoon, are usually associated with the Christmas season.
Amihan affects the eastern portions of the country. It starts over Siberia as a cold, dry air mass but gathers moisture as it travels across the Pacific Ocean before reaching the eastern sections of the Philippines.
