THE gunman in the killing of a lawyer in Bacolod City over the weekend was also killed by another set of hired assassins in a village in the same city on Sunday, a police official said on Monday.
Western Visayas police Director, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., said on Monday that this was the breakthrough made by the Bacolod City police in their investigation in the killing of lawyer Jhonny Chua, 63.
Chua, was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman on Saturday evening while he was in an SUV driven by his son, Brent Andrew Chua, along Burgos St., Brgy. 19 in Bacolod City.
The police official said that Chua’s gunman, identified by witnesses as Reymund Longno, a.k.a. small boy, was also killed by two men wearing ski masks on Sunday night in Brgy. Villamonte also in Bacolod City.
“Longno was positively identified by several witnesses, including Chua’s son, Brent Andrew, as the man who shot his father while they were in their vehicle,” Cruz said in a text message.
The police official said that Longno died from multiple gunshot wounds he took when two ski mask-wearing gunmen shot him on Sunday night in Brgy. Villamonte.
