BALANGA City, Bataan: The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in coordination with the city government of Balanga City, started on Friday its two-day “diskwento caravan” in Bataan.
Yay Lasam, Trade department provincial director, said that the agency has imposed a minimum 10-percent discount for all goods sold at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga.
“Pero sa pag-ikot namin, nakita namin na karamihan 20 percent ang ibinibigay na diskwento [But in our tour, we found out that most establishments give 20 percent discounts],” she said.
Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd of Balanga City, Lasam and other DTI provincial officials inspected all stalls to see for themselves the prices offered.
“Magandang proyekto ito na nagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa mga taga-Bataan na makabili ng iba’t-ibang produkto sa murang halaga [This is a good project that gives Bataan residents the opportunity to buy different products for cheaper prices],” the mayor said.
On sale were vegetable noodles, bags, clothes for children and adults, soaps, dishwashing liquid, canned goods, cashew nuts and other food items.
Lasam said that the diskwento caravan in Bataan was the second for the year, the first was held in May.
